ऋणानुबंध is just a different manifestation of Prarabdha karma that we are born to repay (or reap) in this life.

Everyone in our life exists because of ऋणानुबंध, i.e. either we have to repay something to them OR we need to take back something from them.

Everyone we have met, made friends with, our parents, siblings, spouse, kids, relatives, neighbors, colleagues, everyone is there for exact one reason, ऋणानुबंध. 

It might feel very DRY, but, all this love, attachments, hatred that we have with different people in life, is all due to, ऋणानुबंध. 

Every relation will exist until there is bond of give-and-take, once that is over, how-much-ever-you-want-it-to-continue, people/relations will cease to exist, will go away.

Only way out here is to follow “Nishkama karma” on relations, which means:
1. In every relation, work “wholeheartedly”, don’t hold back..
2. Spend effort on every relation, without expecting anything in return.
3. When it’s over, while cherish, don’t cling onto it, move on.

Follow this, and I am sure, you will find life (and every relation) more enriching, and not only that, you will also make progress on spiritual path.
